First up was vault- not her strongest event. She got 9th place with a score of 8.35. She was competing against 14 other girls in her age group.
Second up was Uneven Bars. She did pretty well. She got a 9.325 which was good enough for 2nd place.
Third up was Beam- typically her strongest event. She did go over time a bit (you can hear the bell in the background :)) That deducts .10, but she still got a 9.40- which was 1st place.
Her final event of the day was Floor. She had a fairly strong routine with a few minor errors. She scored a 9.225 which got her another 1st place.
Her all-around score was 36.300. She was the only one on her entire team (from every age group) to score over 36. It was a good day.
Her level 5 team received the 2nd place trophy for the meet. They all did really well. Since 3 of Amanda's scores contributed to the overall team score, her coach let her keep the team trophy for a few days.
Thanks for letting us brag. We spend a LOT of hours on this sport and it's nice to see her progressing and it all paying off :) Next up is states on April 25th. This will be her toughest competition yet.

Simply amazing! She has so much poise... sometimes it's hard to believe she was ever that cute little thing in diapers "fixing" Josh's hair with pencils! Thanks for sharing!!!
She is amazing and fun to watch. Congrats!! The hard work is paying off. She looks like Shawn Johnson up there.
